480p vs 720p vs 1080p AI Video: Which Quality Should You Choose?

Every export quality on DuetTake produces the same 15-second scene with the same soundtrack. The only real differences are resolution, credit cost, and file size. Here is how to pick without wasting credits.

What does each quality cost?

QualityCreditsBest for
480p20A quick preview, drafts, small screens
720p45The practical default — sharp on phones and laptops
1080p80Big displays, professional use, maximum detail

If you are unsure, start with 480p. It costs less than half of 720p and is enough to judge whether the faces, motion, and scene work for you.

When is 480p enough?

480p looks rough on a 27-inch monitor, but on a phone screen it is surprisingly watchable. Use it when you are still learning how to write video prompts or testing which photo pairs work best — you can always re-export at higher quality once the result is right.

When should you jump to 1080p?

Only two situations really justify 80 credits: the video will be shown on a TV or projector, or you plan to crop and edit the frame afterwards. One honest limitation: higher resolution cannot recover detail that was never in your photo. A blurry source photo produces a sharper blurry video at 1080p, not a better one. If sharpness is the problem, choose better source photos first.

What about file size and format?

All qualities export as H.264/AAC MP4 files with the template soundtrack included. Rough expectations:

  • 480p: a few megabytes — easy to send in a chat
  • 720p: typically 10–30 MB — fine for social uploads
  • 1080p: can exceed 50 MB — check the platform's upload limit before posting

The practical workflow

  1. Draft at 480p until the motion and faces look right.
  2. Export the keeper at 720p.
  3. Reserve 1080p for the one video you actually publish.

This habit alone cuts most users' credit spend in half. Failed generations return the reserved credits automatically, so experimenting is safe. See the current credit packs if you need a top-up.

Frequently asked questions

Does higher quality change the motion or timing? No. The scene, motion, and audio are identical across qualities — only the pixel count changes.

Can I upgrade an export after it finishes? Each export is a separate generation, so pick the quality before you generate. Draft low, export high.

Do credits expire? No. Credits on DuetTake never expire, so there is no pressure to spend them.
